What is it to be a Cooperative?
Perhaps the most unique feature of Cobble Hill Playschool is that we are a cooperative. It is part of our soul. Forty years later, it still defines who we are. But, what does it mean to be a cooperative?
Keeping Costs Down:
We are one of the most affordable schools in the neighborhood, laregly because we are a co-op. The co-op model is how the school is managed. We cannot function properly without the support, time and commitment of each and every family.
Volunteering Our Time:
As parents, we all have an obligation to volunteer our time to help the school. The board expects that parents take their commitment seriously and fulfill their obligations in a timely, quality manner.
Working Collaboratively:
As members of this cooperative, we take pride in knowing that we all have a say in creating something truly wonderful. When we work together, share ideas, and remain open-minded to new ways of doing things, we can make something great even better for our children.
Creating a Community:
When it all comes together, the most amazing result is having access to a strong, like-minded community and being able to turn to that community for help, support even friendship.
